Cookbooks from the 1930's Part II

The Country Cookbook, published in 1937.A Countryman Press book, other books in the series include: The Country Dance Book, The Country Craft Book and the Country Rod and Gun Book.

The Household Searchlight Homemaking Guide, published in 1937 by the Household Magazine of  Topeka, Kansas. In addition to recipes and menus for all occasions,  there are chapters on etiquette, childcare, health & beauty and decorating.






Rumford Complete Cookbook - Revised, published in 1939. Rumford was a manufacturer of baking powder, starting in 1869.

Mary Hunt's Salad Bowl, published in 1939. Contains a recipe for Perfection Salad, a recipe that still appears today in many church/community cookbooks. A congealed salad, it incorporates gelatin with cabbage, celery and pimentos.
