Cookbooks from the 1970's

Family Circle - Lunches & Brunches, published in 1978. There is a metric conversion table in the front pages as the book was published at the height of the metrication effort in the U.S.

The Kikkoman Cookbook - Your Way to Better Flavor!, published in 1973. I grew up using Kikkoman SHOYU and still can't bring myself to call it soy sauce. There is a chapter on the components of shoyu.

Don't Forget the Parsley, published in 1977. The book is a bit dated for the times, advising women to forget about Women's Lib (!) and to focus their mind and energy on doing a pleasant job of cooking and other things for their deserving husband so he can't live without you.

Grandma Rose's Sinfully Delicious Book of Cakes, Cookies, Pies, Cheesecakes, Cake Rolls & Pastries, published in 1975. Rose owned  Rose's Food Shoppe in Toledo then moved to Portland, Oregon and operated Rose's (bakery).

Let's Eat, published in 1979. A church cookbook from the Atonement Lutheran Church in Syracuse, New York. The most used recipe is a Chocolate Sheet Cake judging by the cooking stains on the page!

Buckeye Cookery and Practical Housekeeping, published in 1971. This is a reprint of the 1879 cookbook.
