Miscellanenous Thrifty Purchases - Bake Off, Florida & Lake Logan Lodge

Pillsbury Bake Off - 100 Award Winning Recipes, published in 2008. The winning recipe (this was the 43rd contest) were the Double-Delight Peanut Butter Cookies.  There are many other scrumptious recipes as well - with a LOT of different pizzas using refrigerated dough.

Favorite Recipes from Florida, circa 1970's. Most of the recipes feature citrus and other fruit gown in Florida. There are recipes for refreshments, appetizers, salads, main dishes, cakes, pies, desserts and even a few for calorie counters.

Lake Logan Lodge Cookbook, published in 1992. Lake Logan was a valley that was dammed to form a lake in the 1930's to create a water source for the Champion Mill downstream in Canton, North Carolina. The Lodge was used as retreat for Champion's executives and ultimately divested to the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina in 2000. Lots of great Southern cooking recipes and yet another cookbook that embraces Southern Flour (soft-wheat)  AKA White Lily.
