Wednesday Thrifting Haul - Some New, Some Vintage

South of Maxim's - Favorite Recipes Compiled by The Springhill (Alabama) Avenue Temple Guild, published in 1971. Includes a Creme Brulee recipe from Jackie Kennedy sent in 1961 to the Temple (copy of the letter is reprinted in the first few pages. I found an old grocery receipt from Bruno's Food Store dated 9/21/1986 tucked in the pages.

Famous Florida Orange Recipes - Famous Recipes from Famous Places, published in 1988. Recipes for appetizers to entrees!

Brennan's New Orleans Cookbook, published in 1975. Recipes from one of New Orleans best known restaurants which was founded in 1946. The previous owner left a vintage postcard of the patio at Brennan's between the pages.






Lee Bailey's Country Weekends, published in 1983. The first cookbook written by Mr. Bailey who was raised in Louisiana. Lots of great recipes and hints on entertaining.

Only in California, published in 1992. Profits from the sale of book went to the Children's Home Society of California. The recipes capture the spirit and lifestyle of California.





The Grit Restaurant Vegetarian Cookbook, published in 2001. Recipes from a local (Athens, Georgia) restaurant known around the world and a favorite of locals and musicians in town for a gig. The owner's sister operates the 40 Watt club, a well known music venue.
