Thrifty Finds - White House & James Beard

The White House Chef Cookbook, published in 1968. Written by Rene Verdon who was the White House chef for the Kennedy administration. Filled with lots of French dishes mixed in with simpler fare. There is a recipe for New England clam chowder that President Kennedy loved so much he requested it three days in a row.

Beard on Pasta, published in 1983. Filled with loads of pasta dishes and instructions on making fresh pasta with various types of dough. There is also a section on choosing the right cheese to accompany each dish.
