Thrifty Finds II: James Beard Menus for Entertaining, Rodale Cookbook & Willard Scott

James Beard - Menus for Entertaining, published in 1965.  Menus and recipes for breakfast. lunch, dinner, buffets, cocktail parties and outdoor cooking. There are also guides for wines, liqueurs and aperitifs  to serves with meals.

The Rodale Cookbook, published in 1976. This copy is the 10th printing with the first printing in 1973. Recipes reflect the growing trend of the healthy eating movement of the early 1970's with a nod to organic fruits and vegetables. Many of the recipes come from the Fitness House Dining Room which was open to employees of Rodale Press in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Rodale Press began publishing in 1942 with Organic Farming and Gardening magazine, which is still available today as Organic Gardening. Other titles published by Rodale are Prevention Magazine and Men's Health, plus a few cycling magazines. Rodale Press is also one of the largest independent book publishers in the United States  with a few bestsellers: An Inconvenient Truth and Eat This, Not That.






Willard Scott's All-American Cookbook, published in 1986. Recipes were complied by Willard on various trips around the USA. Contributors include restaurants, country inns and everyday people he met on his travels.
